Girdwood Airport is a state-owned public-use airport located three miles (5 km) northeast of the central business district of Girdwood, in Anchorage Borough, Alaska, United States.〔 As per Federal Aviation Administration records, this airport had 2 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2005 and 8,100 enplanements (all unscheduled) in 2006.〔(FAA Passenger Boarding and All-Cargo Data: 2005 and 2006 )〕 According to the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2007–2011, it is a ''general aviation'' airport.〔(FAA National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems: 2007-2011 )〕 Girdwood Airport also served as the Finish Line for the 12th season of the popular 5-time emmy winning reality TV show, The Amazing Race. == Facilities and aircraft == Girdwood Airport has one runway designated 1/19 with a gravel surface measuring 2,088 x 73 ft. (636 x 22 m). For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2005, the airport had 3,300 aircraft operations, an average of 9 per day: 55% general aviation and 45% air taxi.〔
